Frequently asked questions
Getting started
Who is this for?
Business owners, creators, churches and ministries, and anyone starting or growing a business who wants a marketing channel they control. If you have videos that show what you do, a TV channel puts them in front of people on the biggest screen in the house, on accounts that belong to your business.
Why a TV channel instead of just YouTube?
Keep YouTube. A channel adds a place you control: no algorithm decides whether people who added your channel see your next video, and nobody else's billing can switch it off. It works alongside your website and email list as part of your own marketing.
Can a church or ministry use this?
Yes. The channel goes on Roku and Amazon accounts in your organization's name, and your organization decides who holds them. Recorded services, sermons, teaching series, and worship are what a channel is built from. One thing to check first: make sure your music license covers streaming, not just singing in the building.
We already have a TV channel through a church or media platform. Can you move it?
Yes. That is the "Moving off a rented channel" option. I rebuild it on your organization's own accounts, with your own signing key, for a flat monthly plan. Start with the Readiness Review if you want a clear go or no-go first.
Should I apply or join a waitlist?
Apply if you want a Readiness Review, a Roku or Fire TV channel, a move off a rented channel, or a web TV channel. Join a waitlist for the Growth Plan, Channel in a Box, advertising, a niche directory, or just the free guide.
What do I need before I start?
The rights to every video and the music in it, at least 10 finished videos in HD, a logo, and a sentence about who the channel is for. Music from YouTube's own library may be licensed for YouTube only, so check it before it goes on TV.
Do I need to be technical?
No. You need to be able to join a screen share, create two free accounts while I walk you through it, and send me your video files. I handle the build, the store listing, and the submission.
Can I use the videos I already put on YouTube?
Yes, if you own them and the music in them. I work from your original files where you have them, so your channel looks as good as possible on a big screen.
Do I need my own developer accounts?
Yes. Roku and Amazon developer accounts are free and in your name. That is what makes the channel yours, not mine.
How do I send you my videos?
After you're accepted, I send you a private shared folder. You drop your original video files, logo, and artwork there.
What if I have more than 50 videos?
Tell me on the application. I quote the extra videos before you pay anything.
How long does it take?
The build is the quick part. Roku and Amazon each review a channel before it goes live, and their review time is up to them. I keep you posted at each step.
What is the Readiness Review?
A recorded walk-through of your library, your rights, and your current setup, ending in a clear go or no-go. The $97 counts toward your setup if you go ahead.
Paying, refunds, and support
What does "introductory price" mean?
The first 10 clients, or anyone who signs up through January 31, 2027, whichever comes first, pays the introductory price. After that, regular prices apply.
How do I pay?
Nothing is charged when you apply. If I accept your application, I send you a secure card payment link for the setup. The Channel Plan bills monthly to the same card.
When does the Channel Plan start?
The month your channel goes to Roku or Amazon for review. That's when your videos start playing from the hosting the plan pays for.
Can I get a refund?
If you cancel before work starts, you get a full refund. Once the build starts, the setup fee isn't refundable. If Roku or Amazon turns your channel down for a technical reason I can fix, I fix it at no charge until it passes.
Is there a written agreement?
Yes. Before work starts you get a short client agreement that spells out what you own, what I deliver, and what happens if you cancel.
How do I reach you?
Email glenis.graham@gmail.com.
Ownership and cancelling
Who owns the channel?
You do. Your store accounts, your channel, your signing key, your video files, and your program list. I keep the tools I use to build it.
What happens if I stop paying for the Channel Plan?
You keep your channel, your signing key, your store accounts and your video files. The Channel Plan pays for the hosting your videos play from, so your channel stops playing until your videos are on new hosting. I can move them to hosting you choose, or hand you the files and the program list so you can do it yourself.
Is there a contract?
No long-term contract. The setup is a one-time fee, and the Channel Plan is month to month.
I already rent a channel from a vendor. Can you move it?
Yes. That is the "Moving off a rented channel" option. I rebuild it on accounts in your name, with your own signing key, so you stop paying for a channel you don't control.
Viewers and reach
Will I get viewers?
Nobody can promise that, and I won't. Viewers come from publishing on a schedule and promoting the channel where you already have attention: your YouTube videos, your website, your email list, and your social posts.
Will my channel be in all those countries?
Once approved, it is listed in the stores shown above. Listed means people there can find it. Captions in other languages help viewers in those countries.
Which Fire TV devices does the channel run on?
Fire TV devices running Fire OS. The newest Fire TV Sticks run a different system, and the channel does not install on those yet.
Do I get a web version too?
Yes. Every Roku setup includes a watch page for your website that plays the same programs as your TV channel.
Earning from your channel
Can I make money from my channel?
Yes, once you have viewers: your own ad breaks, sponsors, subscriptions, rentals, and QR codes that send viewers to your products or email list. None of it is guaranteed.
Does Roku or Amazon take a cut?
For ads you run in your channel, Roku keeps the revenue from 30% of the ad space and you keep 100% of the rest. For subscriptions and rentals sold through the stores, you keep 80%. What you sell off the TV, like a book or a service through a QR code, is yours.
Coming soon
What is Channel in a Box?
For people who want a channel but don't have a library yet. You get a ready-made niche channel in your name, stocked with licensed, captioned programs from the Travel With Glen library, and you can add your own videos over time. It is on a waitlist now.
What do advertisers get?
A placement on Travel With Glen for the month: a featured title, a presented-by card, or a destination segment. You are paying for the placement and the market it reaches. As with any advertising, viewing isn't guaranteed.
What is the Niche Directory?
A directory for your niche that we set up for you, with the method to find and add the businesses or creators in it and use it to bring people to your channel. It is on a waitlist while I prove the method on one niche first.
